About us

We are a small practice of registered physiotherapists, located conveniently in Edgemead near the Edgemead Shopping Centre. The practice was started by Carol Cooke in 1989, and was bought over by Kim Reitz at the beginning of 2017.

Our physiotherapists focus on a holistic approach to treatment to allow a full return to function. Our passion lies with treating orthopaedic, neuromuscular and post-surgical conditions. Our treatment is evidence-based and we constantly strive to keep up with new developments in our field. We work closely with your doctors and specialists to ensure that you get the best results possible. We are extensively trained in hands on techniques and rehabilitation in order to help return our patients to their previous level of function, either post-injury or post-surgery.

We strive to deliver quality services to our patients in the surrounding areas, including Bothasig, Monte Vista, Plattekloof Glen and Burgundy Estate.

Our Team

KIM REITZ

Kim graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2007, and went on to complete her community service in the district hospital in Calvinia in the Northern Cape in 2008. She returned home to Edgemead in 2009, and started working in this practice as a locum in the afternoon, while working in another private practice in Sea Point. Kim obtained a diploma in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy in 2010, and completed her Equine Physiotherapy exams in 2016. She has also completed courses in dry needling, kinesiotaping, the Mulligan Technique, manipulation and various other modalities. She has a passion for treating both humans and horses (although she is no longer actively treating animals). She has a keen interest in treating neck and back pain, headaches and sinusitis, as well as peripheral joint pain and rehabilitation post-injury or post-surgery. Kim is a member of the HPCSA, South African Society of Physiotherapy and the Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy Group. In her spare time, she enjoys horse-riding, yoga and camping. She also has a 4 year old daughter who seems to love horse-riding as much as mum does!
